Make not a bond of Love...

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday...Lee & I have been married for 10 years. Of course we've been together for longer than that (15 years) but 10 years married as of 20th September 2007.

I thought I'd share with you a poem that was included in our little handouts at our ceremony...
Love one another, but make not a bond of love
Let it rather be as a moving sea
Between the shore of your inner selves
Fill each other's cup
But drink not from the same cup
Sing and dance together and be joyous
But let each of you be alone
Just as the string of a lute are alone
Though they quiver with the same music
give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping
For only the hand of life can contain your hearts
And stand together, yet not too close together
For as pillars of a building stand apart
And the oak tree and the cypress do not grow in each other's shadow
So let there be space in your togetherness,
Let the winds of happiness remain between you
Love one another, but make not a bond of love.
